As one who loath’s musicals, I’ve to confess to having a particular place in my coronary heart for this masterpiece of cinema.
I defy anybody to not be knocked sideways by its sheer life affirming power. Flawless in each element, Singin’ in the Rain options the cream of Hollywood musical and dancing expertise in 1952. With a razor sharp script from Betty Comden and Adolph Inexperienced, and iconic re-imagining of basic songs, the movie hilariously recounts Hollywood’s uncomfortable transition from silent movies to ‘talkies’.
