Q: Let’s speak about your new songs. “Skylight” would be the first single of your new album. What are you able to inform me about this track?

Liv: “It was composed by Tommy Olsson (Theatre of Tragedy) some time in the past and he despatched it to me. We’ve been exchanging concepts for some time now, truly for the reason that starting of 2016. I really like his concepts and what actually conjures up me in his songs is that he leaves sufficient area for me to develop my melodies and lyrics. It’s like going with a magic move. I’ve concepts on a regular basis. ‘Skylight’ was recorded vocally at Tommy’s studio in August this 12 months. We each are actually completely satisfied about what we’ve created collectively. Furthermore, I’m positive that this track can be loved by my viewers. ‘Gravity’ is the second composition on the Nagold particular version single. For all of you who love Aégis of Theatre of Tragedy and my final solo album, Vervain, each tracks will encourage you!”

Talking with Cryptic Rock in 2018, Liv opened up about her messy 2016 break up from Leaves’ Eyes and mentioned becoming a member of her sister Carmen’s band, Midnattsol. Following is an excerpt from the interview.

CR: You spent 13 years with Leaves’ Eyes the place you had been arguably the middle of that band. Once you left, was there ever a second’s hesitation as to what you’ll do subsequent, musically? Did it’s good to take any time to regroup, or had been you extra impressed than ever to forge onward?

Liv Kristine: “At first, I used to be devastated as the entire scenario was insufferable for me, particularly as a result of all the pieces occurred with none warning. My life fell aside on all ranges, skilled and personal, and I needed to cope with the issues of different those who hit me as a lady and my household badly.

On knowledgeable stage, I needed to begin all anew. I believe the entire resolution of changing me ‘rapidly’ and persevering with with the band was not the suitable resolution. Why not simply select one other band title and alter the band’s idea? The Viking idea of Leaves’ Eyes was delivered to life because of my very own historical past and heritage. As quickly as I received the information that Elina would change me and that she was prepared for touring with Leaves’ Eyes, I simply hoped that they’d change the title of the band and give you their very own new idea in case of a brand new album.

My urge and energy to maneuver on has all the time been there and can all the time be a robust pressure in me. As already stated above, I’ve the most effective followers on the planet! Most of my fan membership leaders collect in Nagold, Germany, each December, at my yearly particular present the place all of us sit collectively. I really feel such a robust connection to my followers, and the help I’ve gotten over time is totally superb and I’m endlessly grateful. 2016 and 2017 had been years of connecting to different artists, bands, and initiatives, like Tanzwut, Eluveitie, Orden Organ, Cradle of Filth, The Sabbathian, and eventually Midnattsol, furthermore, it was essential for me to strengthen the standing of my very own solo band.”
