Carol Gene (Elliott) Theobald, 85, of Greensburg, handed away at 8:39 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 10, 1934 in Burney, the daughter of Oren Lavelle and Margaret Imogene (Pumphrey) Elliott.
She spent her youth on the household farm close to Burney, lived in Destin, Florida throughout her husband’s navy service and most of her grownup life in Greensburg. She attended Burney Excessive College and was a faithful spouse, mom, grandmother, good friend and neighbor.
Carol served because the Mt. Aerie Baptist church secretary for a few years. Carol had a sort and beneficiant coronary heart and when her youngsters had been grown, she opened her residence to offer childcare for others. She cherished every of these youngsters like her personal. She was a member of the Westport Baptist Church and Carol held workplaces on the native, regional and state stage of the American Baptist Ladies’s Affiliation, and Baptist ladies’s missions. She volunteered for the Westport Baptist church clothes drive, was a previous member of the Indiana State Sheep Breeders Affiliation and served as a ballot employee for a lot of elections. Carol cherished music and was blessed with an exquisite voice. She shared her pleasure for music by singing along with her church choir. She preferred soccer, baseball and was a fan of Purdue sports activities and the Indianapolis 500. She loved being concerned in 4-H along with her youngsters. She and Don managed the sheep barn present store on the Indiana State Truthful for a few years. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending their varied sporting, band, choir and theater occasions. She took satisfaction in her vegetable and flower gardens and loved journeys to the Smoky Mountains & Nationwide parks throughout the nation. She cherished sharing humorous tales of household adventures, cooking for household gatherings, sharing household recipes and caring for her birds. Buzzing birds had been her favourite. She faithfully mailed playing cards to precise good needs for birthdays, get effectively and encouragement.
She married Donald Wayne Theobald in Jackson Mississippi on June 21, 1951. He preceded her in loss of life on April 8, 2020.
Survivors embody her daughters, Laura (Dan) Curtis and Denise (Dan) Manus each of Greensburg; her sons, Donald Wayne (Traci) Theobald Jr. of West Harrison Indiana and Joseph “Joe” (Barb) Theobald of Clinton Ohio; her grandchildren, Jessica (Corey) Kaeser of Lawrenceburg, Lindsey Ovadia (Flemming) Holm of Wyoming, Ohio, Sara (Jay) Vanderbur of Greensburg, Andrew (Joell) Curtis of Brentwood, Tennessee, Stacie (Chris) Martin of Greensburg, Holly (Brandon) Upchurch of Greensburg, Katie (Robin) Ross of Plainfield, Michael (Brittany) Manus of Batesville, Christopher (Mallorae) Theobald of Walled Lake, Michigan and Bryce (Danielle) Theobald of San Ramon, California; her 13 nice grandchildren. She was preceded in loss of life by her dad and mom, her husband, Donald Wayne Theobald; her sister, Ruth (Ken) Offutt; her brothers in legislation, Raymond (Pauline) Theobald, Roscoe (Vonda) Theobald, Robert, Everett (Eunice) Theobald; her sisters in legislation, Mabel Binford, Fern White and Alta Stevens and her expensive mates, Howard (Elva) Binford.
